Mahadevi Verma

महादेवी वर्मा

Mahadevi Verma (26 March, 1907-11 Setember, 1987) was a Hindi poet, freedom fighter, woman's activist and educationist. She is widely regarded as the "modern Meera. She is considered to be one of the four major poets of the Chhayavaadi school of the Hindi literature, others being Suryakant Tripathi Nirala, Jaishankar Prasad and Sumitranandan Pant. Her poetic works are Neehar, Rashmi, Neeraja, Sandhyageet, Deepshikha, Saptparna, Pratham Aayam, Agnirekha (published after her death) etc.
